Summary

Funding is available via the Sleaford REP fund to support community projects such as environment, sport, wellbeing and education, within a 5 mile radius of the plant in Sleaford.

Grant Purpose

For a project to be supported by the Community Power Fund it must meet the following objectives:

  • Cover one of the following: the environment, sport, wellbeing and education
  • Encourage community cohesion to build stronger communities
  • Benefit the community/group by supporting activities and projects that bring wider community benefit

Grants are available up to a maximum of £5,000 in any one year.

There are two application forms available. One for grants for up to £1,000 and another for grants from £1,001 to £5,000.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply, groups must have:

  • A constitution, or governing document, and
  • A bank or building society account

Groups must be not-for-profit and based and operate within 5 miles of the Sleaford Renewable Energy Plant.

What they can fund

  • Allotments and green spaces
  • Art and drama groups
  • Capital projects
  • Children and toddler groups
  • Community groups
  • Disability support groups
  • Local markets
  • Local Councils (capital projects only with 50% match funding). Examples include:
    > Building, improving, or renovating community facilities/spaces
    > Capital purchases for an event, or activity with long term community
    benefit.
  • Putting on an event, activity or performance
  • Purchase of new equipment or materials
  • Schools (provided project is not a core curriculum activity)
  • Sports and youth clubs
  • Volunteer training and activities that meet an identified need, including start
    up costs (e.g. venue hire, stationery etc.)

What they cannot fund

  • Applications from individuals
  • Profit making organisations
  • Projects that promote or support a particular political view, or religious
    belief
  • Projects or organisations outside of the locations listed under Eligibility
  • Projects which are routine maintenance
  • Local Council applications without 50% match funding. Must be capital expenditure and not a routine operational cost
  • Statutory responsibilities (e.g.projects which should be funded by a statutory body)
  • Retrospective funding: They will not fund projects which have already been started or commissioned
  • Utility bills, meals, or refreshments
  • Organisations that have been granted funding through this scheme during the last 12 months

Taking into account any parish that falls wholly or partly within this range, the locations eligible to apply for funding are Anwick, Asgarby & Howell, Ashby de la Launde, Aswarby & Swarby, Aunsby & Dembledy, Burton Pedwardine, Cranwell, Culverthorpe & Kelby, Dorrington, Ewerby & Evedon, Great Hale, Heckington, Helpringham, Kirkby la Thorpe, Leasingham & Roxholm, Little Hale, North Kyme, North Rauceby,  Osbournby, Ruskington, Scredington, Silk Willoughby, Sleaford, South Kyme, South Rauceby, Swaton, Threekingham and Wilsford.
