RF Logo blue

Summary

Grants of up to £4,000 towards the cost of boat equipment or boat refurbishments to support junior and student rowers, and adaptive rowing for all ages.

Grant Purpose

Equipment Grants

Most of their grants go to UK Rowing Clubs – but they may also support any club or organisation involved in “on water rowing-type” activities.  Recent awards have been made to Gig clubs and Scout groups.  They do not award grants for canoeing, kayaking, sailing or swimming. Their equipment grants are awarded as a 50% match to the monies spent by the club on the equipment purchased up to the maximum amount of £4,000.

Deadline for the Equipment Grant is 12th January 2026

Refurbishment Grants

This scheme is open to any boat belonging to a UK rowing club which is used exclusively for Juniors, those in full-time education or for adaptive rowers of any age.

The maximum grant which they will award to any club, school or organisation is £4,000 in any five year period.  This limit applies as a total across both their equipment grants and refurbishment grants, and can be comprised of a single grant or smaller grants aggregated over the period.

Refurbishments Grants are ongoing.
