The East Midlands Funding Forum is a group of funders, investors, and supporters of the voluntary, third and social sectors in the East Midlands.
They have come together to improve the practice of funding and investment by sharing information, knowledge, and good practice.
Below are a list of current grant schemes and funding updates.
The Youth Endowment Fund’s Open Call funding round invites proposals from delivery organisations that work to reduce young people’s involvement in violence and are ready for rigorous evaluation. Unlike previous rounds, which were open for applications for a limited amount of time and focused on specific themes like Positive Activities or Psychological Therapies, this Open Call is ongoing and for projects from across all our focus sectors.
As a What Works Centre, the aim is to build strong evidence for practices and approaches in areas
where clear gaps exist. They fund delivery of services only in order to evaluate them and identify
what works to reduce young people’s involvement in violence. Please note, funding is only available
for projects delivered in England or Wales.
What they will invest in
Projects must align with one of their seven focus sectors – To help them to make the biggest difference over the ten years of their endowment, they have selected a set of sectors where they will concentrate their funding and learning. They believe these sectors present some of the biggest opportunities to improve support for children and young people who are at risk of becoming involved in violence.
Applications are open to projects working in one of the following sectors: Youth Sector; Children’s
services, Youth Justice, Policing, Neighbourhoods, Health and Education.
Projects must support children at risk of violence – Projects must primarily support children and
young people aged 10–18 who are either:
While children outside this age range can be included, they should not be the primary focus.
Please note, that they are not accepting projects aimed at universal provision for all children and
young people (i.e. ‘primary prevention’).
Projects must be ready for an impact evaluation – They are looking for well-established projects
that are operating at a reasonable scale or have clear plans to scale up. These projects should be
suitable for a full impact evaluation.

Applications for the Arts for Impact campaign are now open.
They are calling all charities using arts and culture to drive positive change. This is your chance to amplify your work, receive match funding and make a greater impact.
Arts charities are in need of urgent support. Arts and culture play a crucial role in communities, from
improving mental health to enhancing social skills.
This newest campaign is dedicated to supporting arts and culture charities across the UK, ensuring they can continue to make a profound societal impact.
How does it work?
Arts for Impact Fund utilises the ‘1:1’ model of match funding. Arts and culture charities apply to Big Give, and their application is assessed by Big Give and their partners, NPAC.
Successful charities are awarded a sum of match funding which is ring-fenced for their organisation. This match funding is unlocked by public donations given through Big Give’s online fundraising platform during the week of the campaign.
Deadlines for applications are 18th December 2024, with a campaign to then run from 18th to 25th
March 2025.
