The Psychiatric Clinical Decisions Unit (PCDU) is based at the Peter Hodgkinson Centre on the Lincoln County Hospital site. The unit provides a safe space for people in severe mental health crisis and enables the team to spend more time with patients to assess their needs and treatment away from an A&E environment.
The PCDU Team are committed to ensuring the voice of their patients and carers is included to inform change and development of the service.
They would like to invite any one who has experience of staying in a PCDU or anyone who cares for someone who has stayed in a PCDU to join them to develop an information leaflet detailing what you wished you’d have known before accessing the service, expectations, the environment, assessment process, transitions in your care from PCDU, staff attitudes, values and behaviours.
It is very important to them that this leaflet is developed together with lived experience voices.
They would also like to work with people who have accessed their PCDU to talk with you about your experiences; what was good, what worked well for you or someone you care for, what didn’t work well and how they could improve patient experience during your stay on the unit.
If you would be interested in joining them to develop these pieces of work please send an email to the involvement inbox at lpft.invovlement@nhs.net.
Thank you for your help.
