Introduction:

Your role is all about ensuring that the people of the community, staff and stakeholders have a positive experience. This role is varied and exciting, constantly seeking to enhance and improve the services offered. Having outstanding communication skills and an ability to connect with people are key to the success of this role.

Role: Engagement and Experience Champion

Location: Campus For Future Living

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus public holidays, pension matched to 4%, 3 x Death in service

Responsibilities

As an Engagement and Experience Champion, a typical day might include:

  • Engaging the local community into the Campus through our café and wider community activities, workshops and projects. 
  • You will coordinate and promote a programme of engagement events, initiatives and activities that enhance the community’s experience of the Campus – making sure we continue engaging and supporting more people every day
  • Lead on marketing and communications with support from their inhouse marketing team. You will plan social media campaigns, pull together community newsletters and update their digital notice boards. You will be responsible for making sure they share what activity is happening at the Campus and how people can get involved
  • Working closely with the Campus team to generate new memberships and income streams, actively seeking new and innovative ways to deliver out of the Campus.
  • Generating accurate quotes, clearly detailing all requirements from room hire to catering
  • You will act as a central point of contact for the people of the community and all members, ensuring that all visitors to the Campus have a great experience.
  • You will advocate for Campus visitors, ensuring that all staff understand the importance of the customer experience.
  • You will connect with the community, collating feedback to enhance the services delivered from Campus.
  • You will complete journey mapping, analysing the community and member experience and identifying ways to improve this.
  • You will review all feedback and provide both a proactive and reactive response to ensure visitor satisfaction.
  • Supporting with onsite conferencing facilities ensuring that members receive an exceptional experience 
  • You will work with the marketing team to promote the Campus to the local community, businesses and wider organisations.
  • You will develop relationships and attend networking events with other partners and organisations to create a seamless and positive experience.

Experience/Skills

Some of the experience/skills they need to consider you:

  • You will have strong literacy skills with the ability to write clearly and effectively
  • You will be able to communicate effectively with people from a variety of different backgrounds
  • You will have good IT skills and experience of using all Microsoft packages
  • A great event organiser, ensuring all activity is well promoted, organised and delivered smoothly
  • Experience of engaging with a wide range of service providers and community organisations
  • You will be open-minded, non-judgmental, inclusive, adaptable, and flexible
  • An organised individual who can plan and monitor a varied busy workload
  • You will have the ability to connect with people and bring different groups of people together facilitating collaboration
  • You will have strong people skills, effortlessly building rapport and fostering positive relationships with others
  • A flexible approach to work and the ability to meet challenges and adapt to change
  • You will be self-motivated, resilient, with a drive and determination to achieve results

What will make you stand out from the crowd:

  • Having a strong desire to work with your community to improve lives for the better
  • Having experience of designing posters and leaflets would be great
  • Experience of using social media to communicate and promote activity would be beneficial 
  • Having experience of working in community-based projects
  • Having the ability to connect with people and promote the importance of the customer and the community throughout the Campus
  • Experience of engaging with a wide range of service providers and community organisations
