LCVS Appoint New Trustees

Introduction

Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service are delighted to announce the appointment of three new members to our board of trustees.

Axel Sedgwick, Henry Wright and Oana Cunnigham are keen to get involved and we looked forward to their new ideas and fresh perspectives that we know they will bring to the board.

Meet Our New Trustees

Axel Sedgwick

Axel graduated from Boston College in 2023 and works there now as a sports technician. Prior to joining the Lincolnshire CVS board, Axel gained experience on the college student council, joined the Board of Boston Primary Care Network and became a member of the Boston Town Deal Board.

As a role model and youth ambassador in the LCVS ‘Young people in Leadership and Governance’ programme, Axel is keen to raise the profile of good governance young people in leadership and board roles and help decision-makers to better understand and adopt a forward-thinking approach to youth issues.

Axel said “As an LCVS trustee I am actively involved in long-term decision-making and leading the organisation. This will help me to personally develop my knowledge and skills in governance and diversity”.

The young people project will provide similar opportunities for young people to do things that benefit the people of Lincolnshire and help young them to gain experience and boost their career prospects. Axel says, “I enjoy networking at a higher level and am looking forward to continuing with the youth ambassadors campaign. This is something I am very proud to be part of”.

Henry Wright

Henry is a manager at Tonic Health Centre in Spalding and studying for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship at Bishop Grosseteste University.

Henry’s developing skills, knowledge and experience of the charity sector will enable him to contribute to support the board and ensure the future success of LCVS.

Henry said “I was inspired to become a trustee due to my passion for making a positive impact within my local community. The opportunity to sit on the LCVS board with experienced trustees and shape the future of the organisation as well as supporting my professional development motivated me to take on this role. I hope that by being a young trustee, I can bring a fresh perspective to the board and help LCVS to strengthen the connection between young people and volunteering“.

Oana Cunnigham

Oana is the owner of the award-winning ‘The Little Kitchen’ café in Boston. Oana will be sharing her experience and skills as a local businesswoman with the LCVS trustees and provide a valuable perspective to the work of the board.

Oana said “I am looking forward to being part of an organisation which is at the heart of the community. Being a trustee is an invigorating and dynamic role with new opportunities to make a difference as well as learning fantastic new skills“.

John Latham, Chair of the Board of Trustees said, “I am delighted to welcome these new trustees to our board. We are committed to having a diverse and inclusive board as this has a positive impact on our decision making. It creates a good balance of knowledge, skills, understanding and experience through a mixture of perspectives to fulfil the boards purpose”.
